JAMBOX Recording Studios was opened by Lee Evans in 1980 as a 4 track recording studio in a small basement apartment in The Bronx. Says Evans about the origin of the studio’s name: “It was always tight and hot as heck down there. Guys would say it felt (and smelled) like a sweatbox but man... we used to jam!”[2] In 1989, JAMBOX Recording Studios relocated to midtown Manhattan, expanding into a three room recording facility and broadening its services, officially becoming JAMBOX Entertainment. Currently, four companies operate under JAMBOX entertainment: JAMBOX Recording Studios, 4Sight Music Productions, Lori Michaels Productions, and non-profit organization Reach Out Inc.
Besides recording and mixing, JAMBOX offers a number of other services.
